Basic Lawn Care

Lawn care service isn’t just about cutting grass—it’s about taking steps to invest in your yard’s health and appearance, improving your home’s appeal and value, and letting you spend more time making memories in a yard you’re proud of.

Here is a breakdown of the services typically provided to keep your lawn healthy and sharp.

Routine Maintenance

The fundamentals of lawn maintenance, usually performed on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule.

  • Mowing: Cutting the grass to the ideal height for the season (no “scalping”)
  • String Trimming: Getting into the tight spots around fences, trees, and flower beds where the mower can’t reach
  • Hard Edging: Using a string or blade to create clean, vertical lines along sidewalks, driveways, and curbs
  • Blow-off: Ensuring all clippings are cleared from your pavement and patios before the crew leaves

Health & Nutrition

A healthy lawn needs more than just a haircut; it needs the right “diet” and breathing room

  • Fertilization: Applying seasonal nutrients to promote root growth and vibrant color
  • Weed Control: Pre-emergent treatments to stop crabgrass before it starts, and spot-treating clover or dandelions.
  • Core Aeration: Pulling small plugs of soil out of the ground to allow air, water, and nutrients to reach the roots—usually done in the spring or fall.

Frequently Asked Questions

Following industry best practices we use quality mulching blades that return proper size clippings back into your lawn for natural fertilizing. When we cut your lawn on a recurring schedule you will have consistent cuts where mulching blades work best! Sometimes lawn growth patterns are not ideal and lawns can be a bit overgrown. When this happens the clippings may be larger than normal which results in excess clippings left on the lawn. If you would like us to relocate your clippings we would be happy to bag them and move them to your compost area!
We have a fleet of lawn mowers to match any job!
With optimal weather from late May to mid October we use a 3-4" mowing height depending on the lawn and grass type. During the early Spring we cut lower to remove dormant, winter-damaged tips and encourage green-up. In late Fall as growth slows and we lower the height again to prevent matting and snow mold.
A lot! We tune our equipment regularly and can tell quickly when our blades are not cutting clean.
